When we first moved it we knew we would have to do a back splash. There was one wall that was both cabinet and wall and the seam where the two meet was both unsightly and annoying to my sweet husband. I of course love when he agrees to a project without much begging from me. I originally thought I was going to go with white beveled subway tile, but I was afraid the kitchen would be too stark, so I had several other tiles picked out, marble, glass, mother of pearl. I had convinced myself we were going with mother of pearl. See the post from back in October on choosing the back splash tile. Well this month when we went to pick out the tile I went with my gut and my first instinct and chose the beveled subway. I couldn’t be happier and I think the longevity of this design will greatly outlast any of my other choices. Now My husband and I have become quite handy and have tackled quite a few if not most of the projects for the house on our own. Tile is not something either one of us felt capable of doing. Lowes had a great price on installation and it was done in one day!
I can’t wait until my sweet husband comes home to see the completed project.
Now to put all our items back on the counter, although I do like the look of empty counters.
Stay tuned what what I hope is the end of the kitchen remodel the granite for the island and a new sink, although it may take another eight months to decide on the granite, maybe recycled glass, no granite..well maybe.
