Our youngest daughter is going to be four in July. Where did the time go? I guess it was finally time to move her to a “big girl bed.”
Here are a couple before pictures.
The first nursery before we moved.
When we bought her crib we chose one that went from a crib to a toddler then daybed and finally a full bed. We made sure we purchased all the conversion rails at the same time, that way if it was discontinued by the time she grew into it (which it was) we would have all the pieces. I did the same with her bedding. We purchased the full bedding at the same time we bought the crib bedding which again was also discontinued. So thankful we planned.
I still 4 years later love her bedding. You should have heard my mother when I told her I was painting the walls of my little girls nursery blue and that the bedding was brown, yellow and red. I think she is still of the mind-set that girls rooms are pink with roses.
The only thing new we purchased with the transition to a big girl room was the full mattress and a new vinyl of her name. Hopefully we won’t be moving anytime soon and this one can stay on the walls awhile 🙂 The last house we placed her name on a glass frame thinking we could move it from house to house or wall to wall but we found we just prefer it straight on the wall.
The Etsy seller that made her original name is no longer a seller. I am sensing a pattern, first the bed, the bedding and now the name… so off to Etsy I went. Wow there are thousands of vinyl names to choose from. I zeroed in on a seller where I seemed to gravitate to all her listings Open Heart Creations and found one the closest to the original. Truth be told I like this one better.
The pompom mobile we purchased for her is nursery is from a great seller off Etsy and she is actually still selling them. You can customize your colors and sizes.PomLove
The room is a little more crowded then I would like but she still likes to have toys in her room, so there are little pockets of toys in every corner- Pick my battles I guess- they aren’t strewn through out the house, just her room and playroom which are joined by a Jack and Jill bathroom.
There really isn’t a theme with her bedding but on the picture frames that match the bedding there were these darling birds so we have always had a few bird cages in the room.
I wrapped the chandelier with a crystal and gold berry garland from Michaels for the holidays a few years ago and liked it so much we have left it that way ever since.
Just to keep a little more of her nursery we folded her crib quilt at the foot of the bed for her to pull up and cuddle with.
She loves her room. the first thing she did was jump and do somersaults on her new bed. I think we have a few more years before she hits the stage where she wants to re-do the room, I can’t wait to see what she chooses.
