So I took my partner in crime and glutton for punishment Real Estate agent, who is also dear family friend with me light shopping. We were in a huge lighting showroom with thousands of lights and of course I still wound up ordering two lights from a catalog.
Yes I am particular but really the reason I had to order was we wanted brushed nickel and right now the most popular finish for lights is oil rubbed bronze.
The lanterns for the front porch were the most difficult to choose because the house is dark and bronze and black just blended in, I fell in love with real copper natural gas lanterns but did not love the price and did not want to go through the trouble of having natural gas brought to the front door. I am impulsive and impatient. I know I wanted the lights to pop so Brushed nickel was a great option and it matched the other items on the door.
My favorite lights however are the pendant lights over the kitchen island. My Husband convinced me the drum lights I wanted were impractical and I know he was right so my search continued. I saw the Benson pendant from Restoration Hardware and decided I liked the style. I chose an early century barn light in the brushed nickel finish because I wanted it light and open but still unique. The ones from Rh were a little smaller than I wanted so I chose The Chadwick pendants from Elk lighting they are an inch larger than the ones from RH
This is the dining room light, I didn’t purchase a new one I just took the shades off and replace the candle sleeves.
